BEER SAUCED LINKS

Wanted to share another favorite recipes of ours. This time its an appetizer. I have a potluck at work this weekend, and this is what I'm in charge of bringing. They are so good!! This recipe was from a cookbook called "Fix it Fast". Give em a try:

BEER SAUCED LINKS

2 lbs. fully cooked Polish sausage or frankfurters cut into 1/2" pieces
1 cup beer
1/4 c. packed brown sugar
2 TBS cornstarch
1/4 c. vinegar
1/4 c. mustard
1 TBS horseradish

In skillet, combine sausages and beer. Cover; simmer 10 minutes. Combine brown sugar and cornstarch. Stir in vinegar, mustard, and horseradish. Add to sausages; cook and stir till bubbly. Makes 36. Serve warm with wooden picks.

ENJOY!!

Mary,

Thank you so much for your advice on nursing homes. We are heading out this afternoon to take a look at a few. My grandmother can't accompany us (she can't walk at all or lift herself up and down right now), so we'll have to judge for her. We will definitely visit her all the time, and we're making location a priority so that it's not hard for us to do. We've been looking at the state reports to get a feel for things too.

I think the hardest thing is that she is still mentally with it, and so many in nursing homes are not. I don't want her to feel bored and isolated. I think in the end there's not much we can do about that other than to be available to her ourselves.

If I come up with any questions as a result of our exploring, I'll let you know. :)

Jennifer
